    If pregnancy really needs to be avoided, which because of the circumstances i would assume that it is, why not have an IUCD fitted as well, just to be extra secure?

    In women who have not had children, the fitting of an IUCD is much more difficult and dangerous. I don't think many doctors would be comfortable with providing an emergency IUCD to a 15 year-old.

    OP - if your daughters friend has any abdominal pain, vomiting or fevers in the month, she should go to her GP or A&E. If the morning-after pill does fail, the risks of an ectopic pregnancy are higher.
