3 have decided to decommission my local cell site that has been serving me good for the last 7 years and now I have no 3G coverage
3 has told me they have started sharing there network with t-mobile which is rubbish in my area.!
!
3 have offered me 2 months free line rental as a way of saying sorry but what I want is my 3G signal back.!
Has anyone out there had a similar problem or does anyone know who I could speak to in 3, customer service are a waste of time.!

There are others on here better informed than me but I would suggest that if they have decommissioned your local mast and you can no longer get 3g then you probably have grounds for cancelling the contract and moving elsewhere. If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

I agree with Ex.
You should have grounds to cancel your contract, but do remember that T-Mobile and Orange are merging. Their networks are sharing 2G for now, but 3G is coming next year. Is the Orange signal better in your area for 3G? Is it worth waiting for T-Mobile and Orange (and staying on 3 if you get better signal elsewhere, such as at work) or should you move across to another provider now?
It's a difficult one. In your position, I would get 3 to agree to the cancellation of the contract (you keep the phone) and that they will transfer you on to a PAYG tariff with your existing number and sim (this is important, so you don't lose your phone number) and get everything in writing. I'd then take my phone to a "unlock your phone" shop and get it unlocked if possible. After that, I'd get a monthly "sim only" contract with another provider that has a strong 3G coverage in the area and port my number across to the new network. Next year, once Orange and T-Mobile have completed their 3G merger, I'd look at 3 again by getting a PAYG sim and testing its signal strength at home. If the signal was back, I'd go back to 3 and see what they were offering in the way of upgraded phones or simply stick with the phone I had and switch to a monthly contract with 3.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0
