O2 SIM Only + Blackberry + Bolt On?

Hey everyone,

Quick questions: I noticed that the only difference between the £10 a month SIMplicity package and the £15 SIMplicity Blackberry package, is that the latter has Blackberry services + WiFi, and lacks the 'unlimited O2 to O2 or land-line calls' Bolt-On of the former.

Does anyone have any experience of haggling with O2? Is it likely that they would drop the unlimited Wi-Fi in the Blackberry package, and instead replace it with the Bolt-On from the cheaper package? Also, the website makes no mention of this, but does anyone know how much it is to add Blackberry services to one of their regular packages? My aim is to have the £10 package (i.e. with the O2 to O2 bolt-on) + Blackberry services, for no more than £15.

I ask all of this as I'd like to be informed before I call their sales department, who I'm sure will try to convince me that no such offers are available even if they are. ;)

Thanks for any help you can give!

  • When I was with O2 the Blackberry bolt-on was £7.50 but that was a couple of years ago and some companies now do it for free on certain tariffs.

  • I'm on Simplicity rolling monthly @ £15 including the Blackberry bolt on. It was free when I took my contract out in May.

Did that include the 'free O2 to O2 calls or landline calls' bolt-on as well?

No, I don"t have any extra bolt-ons. You used to be able to get one free and all others where extra per month. Not sure if you still can, maybe on a contract you might be able to.

Just looked, the tariff I'm on is no longer available on a rolling monthly contract. You have to take a 12 month contract and all other bolt-ons are extra.
