    Hit target!

Overpayed £60 from the matched betting profits for the week. Overpayments for November now total £1001.12 :D

In other news the OH has also emptied her current account into the offset which should save an additional £30 a year in interest payments.

Now just have to sit it out for the remainder of the month . I hate waiting for payday - it is a long way off. Must spend the rest of the month selling my tat on ebay.

I probably will have the opportunity to pay a bit more this month, but may sandbag it over to next month. This doesn't really go with my mantra of mortgage massacre - but hey ho.

    Cheers,
  • Small update,

Another £22 from Quidco for some of the wedding purchases. Was very tempted to save for next months payment, but there is no point to that really as getting charged interest on it.

Another small update - sold an item on ebay a spare wireless router I had hanging around for £6 net profit, so that's now off the mortgage.

Also paid 1/2 of last weeks matched betting profits £4 (yes a slow week).

Grand total for the month £1033 - nicely over target now. The extra £33 on top feels pretty good (just over 2 days interest!)

Roll on payday next week. I've pretty much stripped back all extra outgoings so could do with upping the income, I'll have to have a think - there must be other ways to make cash.

Next month is going to be a struggle, I've got money set aside for Christmas so all good there. Ongoing DIY work is going to mean a bit of a hit, I'm considering a 0% card to help spread the cost and maintain momentum.

Realistically we are looking to try and be in a position to move in around 18months, so just gotta keep hammering it,

    Cheers

Ok that closes out the month of November.

Total over payments came in at a very respectable £1033.71

Onwards and upwards to December overpayments which have kicked off with +£140 from the OH and another +£79 from the DVLA as a refund to our dead car.

So a respectable start to the target of +£219.

    Good luck all!

  • Cheers my friend,

Another week of matched betting brought in a tidy profit. Half of which was used to pay off the mortgage +£39.

Brings the month total to £258

A quarter of the way there, fairly confident now this month despite having to pay some tradesman.

    Good luck all!

Salary came through so overpayed +£600

Sold an item on Ebay (a freebie the OH got given) for +£27 net after postage. I thought it would go for a fiver so very surprised at the result. One man's trash is another man's cash. Made me realise I have thrown away a lot of £££'s that I could have ebay'd

In other news had a real result, that I can't really go into here - but means significant (3 figure) savings on our winter holiday. Really made my week.

So £115 to go to hit the target. Hoping to make this shortfall up by matched betting, but we shall see. Next month going to be very tricky to hit target - anyone know where to buy cheap kitchen appliances?

    Cheers and good luck all!

It has been a while... zero overpayments for January. Various reasons for this including Christmas/DIY/Holiday.

Hope to get back on track as soon as I can. The resurgence of the diary should help,,,

Overpayed by +£92.24 today in order to get the mortgage into the £165k's.

I'm starting to think my target may have been a little ambitious, with so much other stuff going on.

Its been a while as many other things have been going on lately. However managed to crack a bit more off the mortgage today. Found a $20 dollar note which I promptly converted to +£11 overpayment. Also noticed that +£63.08 would take the overall balance into the £164k's so thats what I did.

Targets not being reached and the DIY is dragging and costing, but still have the overall goal in mind.

Want to get a few items listed on ebay as extra income would be handy. A bit more matched betting action is also required.

    Cheers all,

dont get demoralised if it doesn't always work out at 1k a month. Try and set reasonable targets that you can acheive. It will all make a difference. Personally, I look 2 years at a time, as it feels more manageable.
Remember, on average, every 100 pounds you overpay saves you 90 pounds on top.
Always a good one to throw at the wife, is the big trip at the end.
    :j

    Good luck:)
