Seems this Sept - Nov it has been in general hard getting hotels in New York. They are having A LOT of visitors. Normally Sept to Nov is generally quiet, but this year New York is proving very popular.

When do you need to book? I've got a mate out there right now and he's trying two different hostels. He is staying here on his return next weekend so if his stay there was pleasant I'll post back here with details.

wouldnt be going for a good year or two probably, just doing some research for when i do

I'd recommend doing a search on venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance!)
Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W

    Hope that helps

Well I've booked the Latham through venere which is only $95 a night using the above coupon. I'm gonna keep looking though as I can cancel this place without penalty.

I suggested the Big Apple Hostel on another thread (I stayed there many years ago) and it's the most central Hostel in NYC.

A double private room for under $100 is a good deal.

You'll be in NEW YORK CITY and not the hotel / hostel room much, it's just a place to sleep.

Yeah The Big Apple Hostel looked good, but sadly the private doubles were all booked out already.
  • Try this place. http://www.hotelbelleclaire.com/index.html
