2011 all inclusive family holiday

Hi there, I’m looking to book our first family holiday abroad for 2011 (as it didn’t happen again this year!) Can someone please recommend all inclusive in Spain, must have plenty of slides and activities in water so that my girls age 9 & 10 (in 2011) can keep themselves entertained, neither my husband or myself like swimming much and would really like to just sit back and relax knowing the kids are happy and active. Kids club and evening entertainment is a must for my girls.

I have chosen Spain because my husband has a fear of flying so looking for short flights. My local travel agent recommended Club Mac Marte in Alcudia, but there were far too many bad reviews that really put me off.

Any recommendations please?

  • I went to club caleta dorada in fuerteventura in july.
It really is a great place for the kids. it does have some bad reviews on tripadvisor but trust me, some of them were so ridiculous they must have been talking about a different place.
Thomson do the packages that include kids club etc, but if you book through a 3rd party agent the hotel do have their own entertainment programme around the pool etc.
If youre interested and want any more info feel free to ask :D
Everyone who thanks me when ive helped will get a 5% share when I win this weeks Euromillions......:p
  • How about a Mark Warner (Corsica is a 2 hour flight), or Sunsail Vounaki, slightly longer flight, but by the time the food is out of the way it is time for the loo and land.

I suggest both these companies because they have fantastic childcare so you can sit back and relax.

Sorry I dont have any suggestions but im subscribing to the tread if you dont mind, as we have wanted to do this for a couple of years but didnt know where to start and everything was outside of our price range.
  • We went to Aqua land in Corfu AI- lots of slides there. Booked with first choice although Thomas Cooks do it as well. 3 hour flight from East midlands (not much longer than Spain) then 15 minute transfer.

It will depend heavily on your budget, your most likely going to prob look at holiday villages within spain there aint alot of hotels with (aqua park) type facilities apart from these hotels

  • la pineda on costa dorada hotel estiviel park is good
  • avoid the club mac marte at all costs. We were duped by the travel agent to go there a couple of years ago - i think travel agents must be on commission to push this place. It is a dirty horrible place that has no space for the people there will very little for the kids to do. It is 3 sister hotels on one site and we stayed in the Marte. I think it was the Jupiter that seemed a bit better. The plus to this place was alcudia beach - lovely
  • i have been on many ai holidays as cost of sc was getting ridiculous with the price of ice creams etc. for kids and the one bit of advice i always give if people ask is avoid the large ai properties, they tend to be very noisy and attract a shall we say "boisterous" crowd, though this is what some people like.most resorts in spain are serviced by a decent waterpark and what you save by not having one on site will easily pay for a couple of trips to the nearest park.most kids seem to be happy with a decent pool and a kids club so they can get away from mam and dad for a while, i have found both thomsons and thomas cook to have very good clubs wth well trained staff.
  • I think I must've been at a different resort to what the above poster is describing. We are just back from the Jupiter Hotel and had an amazing holiday. I have 3 kids aged 10, 9 and 3, there was plenty for them to do always organised games, kids clubs and night time entertainment. The hotel was lovely and clean the staff were always cleaning and worked really hard. The food was fab with a different theme every night and always loads of variety, you'd be hard pushed to not find something you liked. Yes it's a big place with a lot of kids so not suitable for couple's only, but if you have kids I think this is a great place to go. We enjoyed it so much we've booked up for next year again, I really don't understand the bad reviews because we all loved it, different strokes for different folks I suppose.:)
  • Thank you for all the above advice, I like the sound of Aqua land in Corfu after researching it last night.

I welcome anymore AI family breaks with short flights! :T
