If you get any clueless staff, tell them they must close the PlusSaver account FIRST, cancel ALL direct debits/ bill payments, and remove any pending charges/
Only then will the account close.0 -

As far as I am concerned, written notice of closure is irrefutable evidence of my instructions to the bank and Santander can take it or leave it. But, if they try to leave it, I'm off to the FOS as soon as I get their response. They can take their change out of that.
Yes but the amount of crud Santander inflicting on people at the moment would you really want to spend all that time and hassle cleaning up all the mistakes even though you are legally (and in every basic common sense) right.
I am keen to do it in person (but not waiting for an appointment I'm storming in at peak time) so I can also tell them to do something ending in Off or Themselves. :ASantander are awful - mission in life is to warn people since 17-Sep-10, 18-Sep-10 realised one of thousands.0 -

What a shower of s.......
Internet banking my a.....
I expect to be able to move money around online as and when without the delays they have. Otherwise, what good is it?
They think they are going to charge me £25 for paying a dd which put me £33 over my o/d limit and a further £55 as an unautherised o/d fee!
They can whistle!
They are soooo slow to accept payment transfers in and the dosh just dissapears into the ether for a week when trying to transfer to another bank account.
This is what caused my little problem....a matter of hours.
With Barclays, you have up untill 6.30 pm to get money into the account to get your balance back within limits if you have gone over limit that day.
Not a&l. Oh no. they just put you over limit immediately.
Sick and tired of them and can't get out fast enough.0 -

Normal procedure. If you have destroyed the card and cheque book then confirmation that you have done so should be enough.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
