However Barclays certainly benefited from other banks which did take the 'public shilling.'

Consider, if none of the banks had been 'bailed out,' would Barclays survived?

As 1 of few left standing they certainly would have!

Er - no they wouldn't - the whole of the banking sector in this country would have collapsed. Including Barclays.

This is a forum on the internet. The language is regulated.

Please exercise caution & report any spam, illegal, offensive, racist, libellous post to [email protected]

This forum is not regulated - it governs it's own standards. And it has exercised caution by using ''F***'' in the title of the thread giving a clear warning of the subject matter within.

And for those who think that Barclays somehow don't deserved derision because of not being directly rescued by the nation, let's not forget that these people are serial tax avoiders and as such deserve all the criticism they get.

It governs its own standards. That is self regulation.

There is a subtle, but important, difference between regulation, and self regulation.

Yes no swearing or using prescribed words in the forum applies to everyone.

Yes no swearing or using prescribed words in the forum applies to everyone.

For someone so hot on the correct use of words, your own use of them is somewhat suspect.

Especially since this particular error has already been pointed out on this thread.

Unless you really meant words like penicillin, aspirin and Viagra are verboten on here.

Dear me this really is rather futile

There is no swearing in the forum - and the rules apply to all as it has to do on crowd sourced content website - as it is impossible for the publisher (me) to take a judgement on the millions of words written every day.

Yet the picture did not appear in the forum it appeared on the main site with in the blog. There as the content is bespoke and much more controllable provided only by the team we judge on a case by case basis.

I do believe that some of the people objecting are objecting to the string of characters "F***" Martin, not just the word it's a proxy for:
Its the use of F*** in the title and then a photograph showing the word in full on this site that bothers me.

Clearly society is doomed, DOOMED I SAY!!!, when a few stars can generate such apoplexy.
