bad service from ORANGE and CarPhoneWarehouse
What a useless bunch these Orange are!! They really imbedded the service I used to get from France Telecom, their parent, now deceased, company.
A week ago, I wanted to port my Pay As You Go Orange SIM to a new Talk Mobile contract I signed at a CarPhoneWearehouse shop.
I was amazed by the fact that in less than two hours, after requesting the PAC from Orange, I received an SMS from them with the PAC.
The CPW guy entered the PAC for the Talk Mobile service to port the number, but it was rejected, saying it is the wrong PAC for my SIM. I called Orange again, and was told that there can be ONLY ONE PAC for a SIM and it is the one I received.
The Talk Mobile guy tried it again and managed to get it through, telling me that in 24 hours my phone-number would be on the new contract blank SIM I was given. Two days later, nothing happened. I went to CPW shop again, they called the Talk Mobile service again, and they said that they could not port my number because of bad PAC, but they did not bother to notify me…
I called Orange again, and only after insisting to speak to someone more senior than “the guys in India”, I was told that the PAC I was given was wrong and they issued a new one, on that same day as the first one, but never notified me.
I was left without new number, not wanting to top up my phone, in case it will be lost on the porting…
I experienced such bad service from both Orange Customer Services and the CarPhoneWarehouse shop attendants that it would take very long time to convince me to come back to either of them….
By the way, the CPW attendant refused to provide me with the new contract’s SIM telephone number until it will carry my ported number. I believe is against all the rules.
