Paging experienced IT Techs - What antispyware tools are you using?

As usage of spyware tools seem to migrate quite quickly given their relative effectiveness I was wondering what fellow IT engineers were using.

I've found Hitman Pro to be exceptionally fantastic recently, combined with a malware bytes scan.

  • I'm not a IT engineer but malwarebytes is what is recommended on these boards, whenever someone complains of malware etc.
  • I use SpywareBlaster alongside others , it's free and is passive check it out at Javacool, just remember to update it regularly (weekly)

Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware and Hitman Pro, one after the other, and often in Safe Mode, until the virus/trojan has been vanquished.

I also like HitMan Pro, but was less impressed when the particular nasty seemed able to crash it consistently, just as it was about to do the deletions! Also note that the free version only lasts 30 days on each PC (hopefully that will be enough, and the PC won't get reinfected)...

The stuff that would have been recommended five years ago, Spybot, Ad-Aware, SpywareBlaster, and so on, don't seem to cut the mustard any more. (I never ever had anything trapped by SpywareBlaster, by the way!)
  • what do you use on 64 bit systems?

Hold down CTRL and open it and it will run in breach mode and kill any none fundamental process, including all the malware.

    or Linux.

    Ok, I'll get my coat....
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
