Had this pop up today from ebay regarding the use of private feedback.
"Beginning October 23, 2006, if you choose to make your Feedback Profile private, you will not be able to create new listings on eBay"
I use private feedback so does this mean that you have to list your item on public feedback and then change it to private feedback after the item is listed?

I don't know sorry but I'm all for it.
I always tend to think something dodgy is going on when people have private feedback lolTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Same here - I've never had anything to do with sellers with private feedback - always assumed there was something to hide so I'll be glad if they have scrapped it.
Actually, I cannot find anything about it on the EBay site, sure it isn't someone playing tricks?0 -
One of the main advantages I find in the use of private feedback is to hide my previous auction items and their final prices.
If you are selling similar items on auction the bidder can view the previous auction results this will put off some bidders if the similar item went cheaper previously.
I find that using private feedback has never been a problem you can still view the % rating etc; and all of my customers are happy 100%0 -
I wouldn't ever bid on a private feedback listing.
The feedback is in my opinion to let everyone see how well the other sales went and how can they see that if its hidden?
I'd rather see 2 negs in a 12 month period ,read them and bid than 2 hidden neutrals and not be able to read them.
I dont really think previous selling price is significant as sometimes people are lucky with a bid and other times they arent .0 -
I'm all for it too.
I never buy from someone with private feedback - even if its 100%!2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -
I wouldn't bid on a seller with private feedback, I would just assume that although they had positives those positives said something negative like 'OK for a fake' or 'item not as described but got a refund in end' or such like.
As for the new rules maybe the warning only comes up if you have private feedback so the rest of us would never know there had been any changes?

Ditto: if I see an item with private feedback I skip it. You're really cutting yourself off from a sizable fraction of the buyers if you won't let people see your feedback... it just makes you look like a scammer.0
