Tesco SIM - save £££s, works with locked iPhones (o2)

Tesco has lowered their SIM only tariffs for a limited period. That means for £10 you can have 500 cross network minutes, unlimited Internet and unlimited text messages. You can keep your existing number and it’s just one month rolling contract.

For the latest deals pop in to your nearest Tesco with a phone shop or speak to their sales team.

If you have an unlocked phone, obviously the SIM will work in it. Or if your phone is locked to o2, even then it will still work as Tesco is using o2 network.

For iPhones, again if your iPhone is locked to o2, Tesco SIM does work with the same signal strength and internet settings.

For iPhone 4, you need a micro SIM and Tesco will NOT give you a micro SIM on "SIM only" deals. For that, get a SIM only deal without disclosing that you got an iPhone 4. Bring the new standard SIM home and simply cut it to the size. Guidelines can be found here:
(as a new user I am not allowed to use the web links in my threads so)

Google "how to cut sim to micro sim"
and select the top link from techradar

IMPORTANT: When speaking to Tesco mobile shop people or sales agents over the phone, try not to disclose that you are going to use their SIM in an iPhone. They might refuse you for the cheap 'SIM only' deals and try to sell their expensive iPhone tariffs. Especially with iPhone 4! They might even say that these SIM only deals would not work in your iPhone. Do not believe them. I have tested all this and SIMs do work. Save money :)
