I need a rant!!!!!

Please forgive me, but I just need to rant, and this board is more likely than any other to have people who are/have been in this position.
My bl00dy neighbours (on the married patch) moved in a few months ago at the same time as us, and have some sort of weekly get together where they sing, chant and clap very loudly (I can hear it from every room in my house, even with the tv on) for about two hours. It drives me insane! I never heard my last neighbours at all and they had three kids under seven!
Apparently this is very common in certain communities, and I should consider myself lucky I don't live next door to the "chief", who does this all weekend until the wee small hours
Rant over, I feel a bit better now - thank you!

Chief or not! the wee small hours are for sleeping and in my book he wouldnt get away with it twice.
Have a word, if they cant do it quitely then they need to do it somewhere else. Or at least rotate the houses to give you a break.
My next door had a party, due to the build of the house it was louder in mine than hers. At midnight I popped my head over the fence and asked for a volume reduction, they did it no problems.
Your neighbours probably arent aware that you can here it....either that or join them next week.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.

Oh dear, is it bad i giggled at the fact you're lucky you don't live near the chief?!
Maybe you could have a quiet word with them and tell them its disturbing you. Is there a community hall or church they can use instead? Maybe get some info and pass it along!0 -
I don't really feel like I have genuine cause to complain to them. (So far), the extreme stuff only happens for a couple of hours, once a week, and is over by around 21:30. For the sake of keeping up a front of neighbourly peace, I think I should just put up and shut up. The minute they go over 22:00, then I'll send hubby round!
I'm just one of these people who likes quiet. I also like an early night more often than most. Even when these neighbours aren't having one of their "sessions", I can constantly hear them doing something or other. Problem is I'm now so tuned in to them, that I hear things no one else would notice. The walls are also probably thinner than I'm used to.
When we move to civvy street I want a detached house, far from any neighbours!0 -
Have you tried banging out some Iron Maiden or alike at the same time. Give it a go, you'll feel better.:D0

Not quite Iron Maiden, but I did once blast the radio on the cheesiest channel I could find, during a particularly loud and intense sounding part of the chanting. It did make me feel better, but my husband wasn't impressed and made me stop!

It's the satanic overtures that make it so good though. So it's really worth a shot. Just tell your husband to put some headphones on for a little while.
The Number of the Beast should go down particularly well.0 -
