PayPal Chargeback - first one :(

I sold a high priced item £250+ value in the UK to a UK buyer on eBay which I sent via DHL with full tracking. The item was delivered at the destination address that the buyer had in his eBay and PayPal account just fine.
The item was sent via PayPerParcel so DHL collected the parcel from ME at my home and delivered it to the seller. Is the proof of postage the invoice the driver handed over to me that has my address, the sellers address and PayPerParcel's address with the parcel barcode/tracking number? The driver didn't sign it but it does have his name printed on it.
It has been just over a week since delivery and I have just checked my PayPal account and my balance is negative to the same amount I sold the item for, £250+
What do I do? I don't understand what is going on as I sold the item, the buyer kept contact with me, I still have the messages in my eBay and email account and now he has issued a chargeback due to an unauthorised payment.
Is DHL a PayPal approved postal service?
Please help me sort out this dilemma as I don't want to be £250+ out of pocket
Thanks for reading!

There are two types of dispute this may be, I think it is the latter but just in case....
If the buyer is disputing delivery then you need to add tracking to the dispute which will need to show the item is signed for as it is over £150.
If the buyer is claiming he did not authorize the transaction then he will have initiated a chargeback via his credit card. To be protected from this dispute you need to fax or upload the proof of posting to the paypal dispute. The pop needs to show that you posted the item within seven days and to the registered paypal address. The normal Dhl manifest is a yellow sheet of paper, or a computer printout that you got him to sign, either way, this is your pop. Add this to the dispute and then ring paypal to say you have added it.0 -
Hi there
I would do as theonlywayisup has posted fax or upload the proof of posting, i would also be inclined to phone and expain it all to paypal too.
I know recently when i had a returned item (returned to me) valued at over £200 go missing i was constantly on the phone to paypal and finaly got through to a gentleman that understood what i was saying that i had never received back or signed for the item that was returned he asked me to email my proof to this address and that he would make sure it was attached to the dispute this may also help you.
The email address he gave me was cssupport@paypal.co.uk
I even asked him if he could reply back to the email i sent him to say if i had done it right and it had been attached to the dispute and he did (i was shocked)
Hope you get this sorted as this is not a small ammount of money to be down.
Also the only other thing i can think of doing i am sure i have seen similar here on the ebay boards before where seller requested buyers details through ebay and then called the seller who then remembered that they did infact purchase the item and closed the claim ???0 -
The dispute is due to an unauthorized charge on the buyers credit card. Forgot to add that to the OP.0

Uploaded proof of posting and added some notes to the dispute regarding contact between me and buyer. I'm going to ring PayPal tommorow.0

At least a fraudulent use of card claim is easily defended. I only ever had one, obviously I won it but i made the buyers life a bit difficult as well as I knew exactly what he was doing as he was actually daft enough to let me know in an email.
I think sometimes buyers think we are all daft, he was probably told by a mate of a friend down the pub that if you said you didn't buy it you just got your money back, forgetting that this is actually fraud and quite a serious offence.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. What should I do, I provided all the proof I could such as proof of delivery, communication between me and the buyer and sending to the address listed in the buyers PayPal account.
What do I do?
:(:(
What more information can I give?0 -
