Choosing a new phone :)
Hi all,
In the last few months of my minimum term with voda and want to switch to o2 as I take out the home broadband with them.
I would like an iphone but I can't justify how much they cost. I'm currently using a nokia 5800 which is ok.
I need the phone to have
- a good camera, I don't own a camera, the phone is it
- easy predictive texting
- internet browsing with a decent browser.
- google maps/GPS included
- email, a proper software setup (I commute and would like to answer work emails)
- easy to learn user interface?
It would be nice to be able to
- read ebooks
- watch different format movies
- listen to FM radio
I'm looking at the HTC desire, the blackberry bold 9700 or the iphone. anything else to consider? What would be best for what I need to do?
Just saw the nokia n8 too, would that compare with the above 3?
Thanks all!

The Desire and the iPhone both have all the above requirements except good camera IMO.
The camera for the N8 looks very good from the samples I've seen and the people I know who've played with it. I'm still sceptical about the reliability of the OS but Symbian^3 may change that.0 -
Samsung Galaxy S i9000 .
Camera as good as the Nokia 5800 except no camera hardware button .
Google maps yes plus other map formats available eg GvSig .
Keyboard numerous keyboards available if you dont get on with the stock keyboard .
Decent browser in my book again more in the store .
User interface if you can use a Nokia 5800 this is even easier .
E Books yes Movie formats Yes FM radio yes .
Majority of Android apps are free .
I moved from the 5800 and my short list was Galaxy + HTC Desire slightly bigger screen just swung it to the Galaxy . IPhone never in the picture >> Apple restrictions and no way is it a £200 better phone unless it can walk on water .
