Posted a thread last week about a new build I couldn't get to boot.
Returned the mother board and it turned out to be fault, I thought 'great, glad that's sorted'.
New mobo turned up today, rebuilt PC and now it wont even switch on, no signs of life at all.
I've triple checked all the connectors, but nothing, zero signs of life.
Would I be correct to assume the PSU is faulty too?
So fuming about this, think I'm just gonna return the lot and buy a WDTV.

Okay, just took it out the case, boots but same as last time, no signs of life. So it's not the PSU. It's the motherboard again. Obviously I had somehow grounded the motherboard in the case hence it not booting but I installed as per the case instructions and can't see what I've done wrong.Sigless0

Are you putting the motherboard on risers?
It would be a great help if you could post a high resolution picture of the motherboard on here so we can have a peep. Common causes for your problem:
 1) 4 pin ATX power not plugged into motherboard
 2) Processor not seated correctly
 3) Motherboard main power connector not connected properly
 4) Power switch connector not connected properly to board (try it the other way round)If my post helped you in anyway, please hit the "Thanks" button! Please note any advice I give is followed at your own risk!0

            Thanks for the reply.
My camera isn't great so I've done the best I can.
The mother board is a GIGABYTE G42M-ES2L
Case is the Antec Micro Fusion remote.
The 4pin connector and 24 pin are connected, CPU is reseated, I've got it to switch on, so I assume I had the mobo ground in the case somehow. Now it's on the table the PSU will come on, fans start etc, but that's all. I've also tried resetting the CMOS.
I've got nothing but the CPU on and still and still nothing.

I've called ebuyer and they've said I can't return since it's past 10 days, I can only return the mobo and they'll replace if faulty, I could have returned all for a refund before ten days, but since they sent me a faulty mobo I had to wait 7 days for a replacement, taking me over the 10 days. So fuming here.Sigless0

Stupid question but have you got any ram for it, cant see it in the pictures.0
-
Often it can be down to not seating the ram properly, try one stick at a time in either slot (assuming you have 2).0

Have you tried contacting gigabyte? I've never had a positive experience with ebuyer customer services.
Can you elaborate on what you mean when you say it boots but there are no signs of life?0

Do the fans come on? Does the processor fan come on?0
-
            Thanks.
All fans come on, case fans, CPU fan. But that's all. No signs of life on the monitor (I've tried two monitors). Changed to powe cable in case that's it. Reset the cmos. Tried to boot with nothing but the CPU installed, tried to boot with one memory stick (have two memory sticks so tried that twice lol), checked all connections more times than I can remember it just doesn't boot up.
I'm gonna call ebuyer again tomorrow and try get the lot sent back. I'm damn sure distance selling states you've got 28 days to return. I have neither the time, nor the inclination to be sending stuff back and forth to ebuyer for god knows how long.Sigless0
