Scarborough is always nice for a family holiday , I'm from the town and there's been a massive renaissance in the area over the last few years, with a New Open Air Theatre and re-development of The North Bay. There's also great accommodation englishrosehotels.co.uk has some great deals you should check them out or crownspahotel.com.
Scarborough is a great family town and really hospitable to tourists there's plenty to keep you occupied and you have the sea on your doorstep, i've lived here for 19 years and have great memories of all the adventures i've had in the town there's so much to do!0 -
Haven holidays, or similar - we have had many good holidays with them - something for all the family usually. We had always booked with the company direct, or done Sun holidays, being wary of booking with a private owner especially as you usually have to add the cost of a damage deposit to your holiday, (although you do get it returned) however we used a private owner this year and had a lovely van with more things in that we would have had in a company van for the same price - no long check in queues either! There are a few private caravan websites, direct holiday homes and go caravan rentals being two of them.0

It's probably a bit far to drive without at least one stopover somewhere, but we've been going to North Cornwall since my nephew was eight months old (he's now three) and he absolutely loves it. If you go outside school holidays (although that may be difficult if you have a five year old as well) most of the beaches are really quiet and within half an hour's driving distance, there are some lovely little villages with nice pubs and Padstow is pretty good if you fancy going to a town for the day.
This is the company we go with: www.cornishseaviewcottages.co.uk and we stay in their big cottage in Port Isaac, which takes eight of us adults and a three year old, and next year we'll also have my other nephew who'll be ten months old when we go. The cottage is also opposite the Co-op and about ten minutes walk into the village, which has a pub, a couple of shops, and a few nice restaurants if you fancy a night out as 'just you'."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0
