I probably can't add anything to the personal info you have been given about your visit to colposcopy. If you have treatment it is important to realise that you will be followed up 6monthly then annually for 10 years; this shopuld be reassuring to you.
Iwanttosave I am not sur if you have had smears since you're abnormal one, or nothing since? It is really important that if nothing for 3 years you chase up what is happening. Everything should be fine, but someone should be monitoring you.
neasden I am not sure what an ' inconclusive' result is, but I so think you should find out exactly what your results have been, so you have the information to give your ante natal carers and following a pregnancy.
I do work in this field, although I am just giving my personal views and not advice. It is really important people try an have smears when called, and get a copy of their results.0 -
I have been having 6 monthly smears for 5 years, barring 12 that I was pregnant until my 3 month check.
I am planning on going for another this week if I can get down there, if this comes back the same I am going to demand a refferalWork like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
If your smears are coming back negative you should be fine; if you do get refered to colposcopy they would most likely just examine your cervix and not do any treatment. 6 monthly smears by an experienced smear-taker for 5 years, and a pregnancy should be quite reassuring to you.0

All the best with your results.
Just to say that I had a leaflet with my last smear, which was abnormal explaining all the ins and outs. I cannot believe I have never had this leaflet before. None of my friends have had one either. Just to think all it took to explain things was a leaflet.
The leaflet says "it is important not to get pregnant until your abnormality has been dleat with, as the hormones produced during pregnancy make treatment more difficult."
I would recommend the leaflet it is by NHS cervical screening and is called "What your abnormal result means."All my views are just that and do not constitute legal advice in any way, shape or form.£2.00 savers club - £20.00 saved and banked (got a £2.00 pig and not counted the rest)Joined Store Cupboard Challenge]0
