    Hi Jakeysmum,
I'm in East Belfast, so Belfast charity shops would be great!

For maternity wear, I just asked my friends as a few had babies recently so we're clubbing together a bunch of clothes to wear. The best cut and make has got to be Blooming Marvellous. Lovely jeans and trousers. Gap is also good because they have wonderful sales and their items in size large often do as maternity tops as they are so long.
    Thanks!
  • Hi, Just read the tip about the Baby shop in Dromore, I'm just up the road from Dromore, So I will pop in and have a nosey on Monday when I'm off. Im after a double buggy myself. I'll post on Monday night and let you know if it's worth a visit. Hope this helps.

Hi If you live in or around east Belfast there is a great place at Oasis Centre in Castlereagh St - go to reception area. Lovely selection, good stuff and v cheap - ask for Catherine and tell her Ellen sent you.
  • Do you have a Freecycle group near you??

  • Hi, I have found, whilst the NCT do exist in NI and run ante natal courses and stuff, that seems to be about it. When I was first pregnant they had a magazine just for NI, but it doesnt exist anymore :-( I run a website exactly for this purpose - buying and selling second hand baby things, but obviously cant post info about it on MSE, but its just for NI. Send me a PM if you want to know more!

All our baby stuff goes to the Charity shop on Belmont Road or Ballyhackamore so if you're in East Belfast they are sure to have a few things!!! Ballyhackamore has started doing alot more baby/kids stuff though haven't been to it in ages, just passed by.

Check out a site called netmums where there is a local noticeboard and buy and sell section and through it we are trying to arrange a baby 'swish' where people will come with all their old clothes/toys etc, pay a minimal fee entry and then be free to take whatever they find! Money taken will go to either the group running it or charity.
