Student finance - any receive letter yet?

Options
HI everyone,
the last letter I have received was back in March saying what I am entitled to, however, usually around end of August or beginning of September in the previous years, I used to received another letter with dates of expected payments (3 times over the whole year)
I have not had this letter through yet this year.....anyone actually receive it? :o

I received mine months ago. Have you logged on to your account to see if they've sent you a letter that you just haven't received?
    When do you start uni?
  • I start uni in 3 weeks. I called to Student loans company today but they said that its the LEA who sends the letters out, which I find hard to believe! But they close at 12 daily, so have to call tomorrow to find out!

It's not LEA's, all notification letters go form the SLC in Glasgow.
  • Thats exatly what I thought, But I spoke to SLC Glasgow today, and this is the information they had given me...

I've been dealing with a lot of complaint letters of late, and all of them have related to advice given by the contact centre there, so I can't say I'm surprised.
  • I had mine in August. Actually had three over about 5 months with my payments changing slightly on every one, doesn't half produce a lot of waste paper.
    Saved: £1566.53/ £2000
  • I have had 3 as well, before the current one, again each with a difference in payments of a few pence each time. Whats the point in that?

Can I ask if you have received any letter regarding the Maintenance grant?

Daughter 1 received the loan payment letter in july, 2nd daughter received hers last week but neither has received anything about their grants.

Daughter 1 has moved into her digs at Bristol so lending her money at the moment, daughter 2 doesn't start till the end of this month.

No idea, is a waste. One final letter would have been enough

My husband rang (again) yesterday to find out why our daughters have not received their grant details even though 2weeks ago he had been told it was all being sorted and wait 2 weeks!
The lady he talked to said they would receive nothing because they were being acessed on 2008/2009. Now my husband left his job and started his own business in March 2009 and had to do all the paperwork for change of income etc and this year we had to get our accountant to send in a letter stating our income for 2009/2010.
We have sent this information at least 3 times, recorded delivery, OH spent hours on the phone talking to different people all saying it was fine.

Anyway this nice lady said yesterday she would sort it out herself and ring my husband today.

Guess what? She did!!!! I am so happy I could cry, how silly is that?

My daughter logged on student finance and it is there in black & white.

Three cheers for a lady called Charlotte.
