I applied for a clarity cc as I have my current account with Halifax yesterday and was refused. I have no loans or debts and my credit report from experian is ok, but Halifax told me I had been refused because of something on my experian report, so what do I do now. I wanted the card for when I travel.0

You could try for a Barclay Card Initial, vanquis or Capital One card. The APR I believe is usually around 40% for these so they are probably for emergency only cards. There's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.0 -
I thought they didn't exist, as did uswitch apparently.
Other than the fact that I would be given a Halifax Clarity CC without a credit search the details have been very thin on the ground, which make me feel like this is less than legit, but it's what I'm being told to my face by Halifax employees which I would have thought would mean (in theory) that it is on the level.
Has anyone else had this? Is there some other motive or catch to this offer that I'm overlooking?
I invite all serious and conspiracy theories on this one.
I have been offered this as well yesterday when i signed in to my internet banking, have applied and got accepted instantly, thought i may as well because it is useful for travelling (especially now that nationwide have added the fees on, whilst cheaper than others, there are still some cards that do not have the fees) plus the £5 reward if you spend over a certain amountMFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0
