And what is strange is that there are some newer and older folders in my pictures and they are fine !

they were all in my pictures in different folders - some folders are ok and others are not

If you are happy with others potentially seeing the contents, post an older and newer one upto a file sharing site, sendspace etc, to see if anyone can see what the problem is.

and backup them all asap.

Are the files that you can't open a certain size, over/under a certain size or just various?
