T Mobile - blocked
Can someone please shed some light on my problem with t mobile.
I had a contract with them for 18 months after 2 years i left and went with orange and took my number. As in the past with my T Mobile phones i sent it to be recycled with environphone. The phone has come back as being blocked by t mobile. Environphone explained i needed to get my phone unblocked on the SEIR database by my network. I have spoken to different people some who listened some who hung up!!! They all say that now the phone account is not active they cant unblock it. Is this correct???? I am getting so frustrated. Everyday that goes by i am losing money on my phone. Please can someone tell me if T Mobile are having me on and i need to get my phone back and sell privately??
Thanks in advance

The phone doesn't need to be linked to an acc to be taken on of off the data base. You just need to talk to someone at T who knows what their talking about (maybe a team leader?).0

Oh i have tried and tried but the people i speak to say its not possible and when i ask to speak to someone senior they fob me off with excuses!!!! If i know they can definately do it i will try AGAIN but wont take no for an answer this time.0

Have they told you why it's been blacklisted ? A phone only goes on the list if it's lost or stolen as a rule ?0

Environphone say its blocked on the SEIR database by tmobile. Its never been reported lost or stolen by myself. Apparently all tmobile phones are blocked and can only be unblocked with an active account.0

Rubbish.
Phone's only go on the database if they get reported lost or stolen. Its an abuse without a valid reason.
If you've never reported it there's no reason for it to be blacklisted.0 -
Never reported it. They say its so no other network sim card can be used and thats why its blocked. Why do i feel like im being taken for a mug? I have a small final balance to pay which they can swivel for until this is sorted!! Do you think i need to ring again but speak to someone higher? I am sick of being told there is nothing they can do.0

You mention you have a small unpaid balance which has not been paid.
That will be the reason your phone is blocked, if an account is not paid, a network will place a bar on the phone.
Unfortunately, this can also affect your credit report and tmobile may well have placed a default on your file. You need to get this paid asap and check your credit file.0 -
The balance has nothing to do with it as the block was put on the account March 2010. I asked if i cleared the account would they unbar my phone and they still said no.0

Well its not blocked. but it will only work with t-mobile sim card. wont accept anyother network sim.its just locked to that network. most phones are these days. not just t-mobile but with other networks aswell.
for example if you get a phone on vodafone it some/most times is locked and will only take vodafone simcard. to get it unlocked you have to pay upto 20 pounds. but on contracts sometimes its free after 12 or 18 months once your contract is finished.
and bytheway next time you call t-mobile ask them to give you unlock code so you can use the phone on other network(but do mention your contract finished recently.)otherwsie they will think its payasyougo and charge you
they might still say NO. well than your only way out would be to pay for the code which is around 20pounds or sell the phone privatly on ebay etc.0 -

No it is Blocked - according to Envirophone (see above).
They say it is "Blocked" NOT "Locked" and is on the SEIR database which means that not even a T-Mobile Pay&Go Simcard will not work.
I would call T-Mobile back again and demand a supervisor or you will take them to Court. Good Luck0
