What credit history did you have prior to applying and had you been declined elsewhere on better cards i.e tesco, virgin ?
 cheers for the reply.
I had a '5' late payment marker placed on another credit card account whilst that account was in dispute. Though years and years of credit history previous, mostly good.
I didn't bother applying for mainstream cards with that so recently on my account as no point
Now, over a year later I have recently been accepted for a Barclaycard and Lloyds TSB Platinum :T
You will get there in the end. As you have no adverse data, just a lack of data, you may be able to apply for something like a Sygma card after holding one of the subprime cards for 6mths+
