Can anyone recommend a good cheap hotel near Harrods this December?

Options
Hello, I'm looking for a cheap, good hotel or any good hotel offers for hotels in London for a short stay in early December.

Ideally I'd like to be as near to Harrods as possible as we are taking our little one to see Santa! :D (I don't know who is more excited!?) :p

The Holiday Inn chain have some hotels nearby in Earls Court and Kensington that do family rooms, here is the 2 nights for one link.

We stayed in the Imperial college halls in July. They were excellent. It was £45 a night each including breakfast. The best value was the evening meal. We had two huge main courses and a pint of diet coke each for £15!! The food was very tasty too. The setting is lovely. It in a quiet square overlooking a public garden and beside the science museum. It took us around 5 mins to wlak to Harrods along quiet roads with pretty mews houses. I am not sure how early it opens in December as it is only open in University holidays.

Thanks susancs. Checked rates though and it still comes to £282 for 2 nights in December - even with 2 for 1 offer. More than I wanted to pay really. Appreciate your help though! :T

That sounds perfect! Don't suppose you have a link / details on how to book do you?

EDIT: Found the link on Google, but you're right, looks like you can't book this far in advance.

Have a look at travelodge deals at the mo. And remember the tube is very quick to get to places in London.

What days are you going? Sunday prices are low as £29 in December (remember for saver rates you book one night and then have to book another one for the second night)

  • If you're happy going on the tube, you can stay anywhere on the Piccadilly line. Even Kings Cross is within 30 mins travel to Knightsbridge (Harrods' tube station), although you might get something cheaper if you went out towards Hammersmith

The first couple of weeks in December, especially is it is a weekend, is often not a cheap time to stay in London as people book to come to London for shopping. As others have sugguested maybe it might be better if you want cheaper accomodation to stay outside the centre of London. What are your dates and budget, so maybe we can see what is available?
  • It will be first weekend in December probably (Fri & Sat)

Would prefer to be within walking distance (even if 15 or 20 mins) as I'm really not keen on the tube and we'll have a young toddler in tow.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Keep 'em coming!

Have you looked at travelodge - the link given above? I dont think you will get cheaper than that.
