Whiplash claims

Nothing wrong at all with getting compensated properly when someone drives into you!
You should be campaigning for higher penalties for numpty drivers doing the damage in the first place, not laughing at people scarred mentally as well as having actual injury and pain.0 -
She drove into me though - and is, IMO, 100% at fault. It'll probably go 50/50 though and she'll get her payout.
Scarred mentally? If anyone's scarred mentally it's me, with the size of the insurance renewal I'm going to get in January.0 -

And what about these people faking car accidents?
How about those removing their brake light bulbs or reversing into people at traffic lights?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Even in a 100% non fault accident you get screwed over by insurance companies in so many other ways, e.g. excessively low valuations, use of valuation guides that bear no resemblance to reality, random stupid fees charged by the insurers agents, failure to take into consideration any modifications that you need to replace, or any restoration work that would need to be paid for again on ant replacement car.
Even with a whiplash claim, you still end up losing out!
I really don't have any qualms with people screwing over the insurance companies on this since they are very quick to screw you over given half a chance.
Of course, once that attitude starts to settle into the public consciousness then people are going to do it even in the situations where they aren't getting screwed over.
They started it though.
Edit: Just to clarify I am talking about people who have had a genuine non-fault accident here. The scammers who deliberately engineer accidents in order to generate profitable claims can all go die in a fire as far as I am concerned. Actually scratch that, I hope their airbag goes off incorrectly and snaps their neck in their next fake accident.0 -

The number of people who obtain medical evidence to "prove" they were injured, who are then shown to have never been involved in an accident at all, just shows how rubbish medical evidence is when it comes to simple whiplash claims.0 -

There is always someone out there trying a scam no matter what it is. That doesnt mean the majority of whiplash claims arent genuine.0 -

Oh god the thought of what would be on Wayne Rooney's expenses has just put me off wanting to eat. Thank for for saving me a few quid.0
