    If you've tried 2 printers, a third one is unlikely to work. What's the history, which printers and operating system? Have you installed the software that came with them?

    Sadly both printers were old. First printer just came up with an error message, but not telling what the error was. second is an HP7353 would not load automatically but then it never did. so used disc that came with it. finally get a error message 'printer not communicating with pc. ;
    Its os, vista home premium. just worrying that when switched on no longer get the message 'found new hardware'

    There you go. New printer worked a treat. No messing about went in as easy as--. So lead went back to Argos, had lots of arguing with Comet as they had sold the printer reserved for me. Ended up paying £20 for sx115 of the shelf no box but all the rest of the gubbins was there.
    Many thanks for help.
