    Does that help?
' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".
  • LOL thanks Kiki!

  • :j:j:j oooh somebody asked me something, that means I can do something useful :D:D:D (can you tell that I've been holed up with DD too long? :rotfl:)

I freeze apples in 2 ways:
    1) peeled, cored, chopped and stewed then bagged in portions.

This was how I'd been taught by my Mum many years ago. I don't add sugar as it varies how I use it when defrosted. And I don't put sugar in apple sauce for instance. This works for Apple Sauce, Apple Brown Betty (breadcrums & sugar) Apple Crumble/Pie

but when I was overwhelmed one year I started to:

    2) peeled and cored apples, I do 4 to a bag. Suck out the air with a straw and secure. Simples.

I can slice these even from frozen and use exactly how I like. I can't use stewed apples if I need attractive slices or chunks for example. So these are good for tarts. DD likes a baked apple, and these fall apart a bit without the skin to hold them together, but appear to taste fine with sultanas in the middle and custard over :D

    Welcome Toofy

Off now to write my list.......

Well thank you;);) I still love being organised with my money and being able to buy stuff that I've actually saved for, not whacked on a cc as ex did:mad:
I really need to sort out a new signature!
  • Good Afternoon All  from Stress City :p

DD is ploughing through her dissertation, I am proof reading (still in my dressing gown :o) and she hasn't been to bed. She's still convinced she can pull this thing off. I wish that, from now on in her life, she NEVER EVER leaves things so late again :(

    So not much today :o
    I have/shall:
    • ply DD with S'bury own brand Red Caffeine Drink (44p instead of £1.35 )
    • check banking - breathing room now available phew :D
    • check cc bills and see if I can pay off a chunk of a LOB card that we put DD's debts onto.....(but not tell her of course :D)
    • clean up kitchen
    • tidy bedroom (I've been out and about these last few days, and will be o&a the rest of the week, and it will distract me from DD's progress.....)
    • Start collecting stuff together to take back to Africa next week.
    • including Contact Josiebabe - which I should have done AGES ago :rotfl:
    • make some lists......always like making lists :o
Have a great day everybody :A

  • Hi everyone

Thought I'd start my listypops in work and update as I go:

    · Had breakfast at home so didn't buy toast or a croissant on my way to work - bad habit of mine over the past couple of weeks :o
    · Squirted out a bit too much make up so transferred it to a little pot instead of just washing/wiping it away
    · Taking back the shoes I bought yesterday :T
    · Think I'll put perfume I've never opened on e bay
    · Check my amazon sale to make sure I'm still the lowest price
    · Mini mid-week shop - will do a little meal plan beforehand
    · Buying 'sandwich of the day' for cheapness - again, haven't brought my lunch…

Catch up with y'all later x

  • pick & freeze toms (thanks Fay :)) :A you're welcome

ok Olyv (or anyone with the knowledge) you said something about freezing apples the other day, can you tell me how pls? I have tons of apples & don't want them to go to waste. Also have plums, can I freeze them? Thanks! xx

Plums I freeze whole, when making pie/jam etc- the stones come out and float when you cook - or defrost before cookign and just destone them - easy if messy:D

apples a bit like Olive - or if very lazy (generally I'm lazy) I do them just whole in a bag if making apple sauce later or pie filling which is all cooked - the skin comes out when you cook it anyway so you can fish it out with the pips if you seive it before you use as sauce or pie filling.

Or in chopped up bits - but always raw, any fruit or veg I freeze is always raw - lazy lazy lazy here xx
