When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D

Morning everyone  am up ridiculously early this morning even for my standards! Then had to get up so I could transfer some songs onto my new mp3 player :j for running later :) (mp3 player is "free" to me as I used the last of my harris poll voucher to buy it :D) listening to Dolly P right now! :)

  • Not a great deal going on here so just a short list today.

    So far I have:
    • run WM overnight on Economy 7
    • made lunches to take to work for me and DS3
    • fed and watered chickens
    • taken sausages out of freezer for tea

    Morning all!:)
DD first proper day at nursery. Just back from dropping her off :(
However have huge list for today to keep me occupied:
[STRIKE]Take clothes back to sainsburys and m&s for refund[/STRIKE]
Pick up ore ordered train tickets for London trip - tomorrow
Sort and organise airing cupboard. Get rid/ recycle/ charity shop old stuff - tomorrow
List some more things on eBay if possible. - tomorrow
    Wash DD christening gown - it's 98 years old:eek: - I've got it out ...;)
[STRIKE]Quick sort through DD room and box up any stuff she doesn't use anymore (and label so I know what it is next time![/STRIKE];))
Pop to garden centre to try to get some winter plants for our garden
[STRIKE]Order course on line that work are paying for[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Get couple of cheap tops for work. Went through rest of clothes yesterday so I know what I'm looking for. [/STRIKE] - not sure I woould class them as cheap ;)
Register a Starbucks card so I can limit my monthly spend on my one treat - bit of a weakness of mine when I'm on the road which I will be in 2 weeks! I can claim some back through expenses but I don't like to take liberties
Think thats about all - if I get that done I'll be very happy :D

As for freezing fruits, I always freeze my excess plums, apples etc.. Must admit have never frozen them raw, I just stone/ core them. Put them in a pan for 5 mins or so with a tiny bit of water. Then freeze in portions. Must admit for small apples from my own tree I don't peel either as I find the skin is thin enough to e:jat when stewed. HTH

You have reminded me actually that someone had some apples outside their house yesterday saying free to a good home. May pop past with a bag and see if they are still there ;) - will try again tomorrow, completely forgot today, drove past there too

    Have a great day everyone

Just about to do starbucks card, quite happy, as got a few more things done I've not listed too..

Good morning! Good things I have to do today:

    * Scan in HMRC calculations with my own calculations over them and email them to HMRC
    * Write a short story for 'Take A Break' and send it off
    * Apply for Christmas temp job
    * Make a card for my cousin's birthday and post it
    * 6km run (or 40 minutes at the gym if it's raining...)
    * Pay credit card

Obviously I'm doing more than that all day, but those are the money saving things...!

Hope everyone has a good day. :)
