Thanks for your speedy replies guys.
I must admit I'm completely new to this and find it a bit bewildering at the moment but from what you say I will definitely give it a try.
Will do what Stompa said and enter the whole number in the mobile.
Thanks again.0 -

I assume you mean your enter it in your mobile when you get a giffgaff sim and not use your O2 payg mobile you mentioned in another thread which will charge you 15p a minute to call the 0808 freephone number.0 -
Yes, was thinking of getting a giffgaff sim but after going on the website am not sure now as I would need a new number which would mean I would have to have 2 mobile numbers and I can't see that working.
Thik I'll just use the 18185 for landline calls after all
God, you can tell I'm a female, can't you?!0 -
I was thinking blonde but if you say so!:Dearthlover wrote: »God, you can tell I'm a female, can't you?!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

You can port your existing payg no to giffgaff and a giffgaff sim should work in your o2 payg phone. But this will affect your o2 broadband discount.
What exactly are you trying to achieve eg get cheaper calls to landlines from your payg mobile. How many minutes do you think you need.0
