BBC strike threat

Sorry all, don't really know where to post this but it made me grin...

Apparently the BBCs main unions have announced strike dates...

Who the hell cares? I don't. Oh crikey, I can't watch Eastenders because the BBC are striking? Not that I watch that carp anyway, but hardly going to inconvenience me

It just seems that the union leaders just don't live in the real world. Mind you they will still be getting their nice tasty salaries, while the strikers get their daily pittance. Although I don't think they should get that. Maybe strike allowance should be taxed at 110%? Give the lazy barstweards something to chew on..just a thought from someone who actually appreciates a job.

    No links...?
  • Hopefully the BBC employees will go on strike permanently so the BBC will be shut down and we will never have to pay the licence fee again.

    Pity it will never happen.
  • I think the strike is entirely justified, pension funds are collapsing and bbc workers are going to see the value of their pensions diminish.

I'm glad it won't inconvenience you, I am sure that the strike isn't targeted at you.

The strikes are actually aimed to coincide with the Tory party conference and the spending review. I think its also a nicely timed protest at the incessant public sector cuts being made by ConDems.

What exactly is your problem with the strike action? (seemingly not Eastenders as you have already stated.)

This was no big deal 2 years ago when I was made redundant from the private sector (i'm still unemployed)...now it's biting the public sector...we all have to take the 'pain'!

What incessant public sector cuts are these then?

I've been waiting since May and all they have done is talked about making some vague cuts at some unspecified point in the future whilst continuing to chuck handfuls of my tax revenue down the same old money pits.

So the BBC staff are now being impartial by timing this with a political conference?

    That bodes well for them.
