Newbuild flat nearly dbled in price in 4 years?

There's an optimist born every minute. But these sellers take optimism to an entirely new level!

These two flats were new in 2006.

they were sold in Jan 06 for £420k and £430k.

Now the seller(s) want £735k and £750k for them! Seems pretty optimistic to me, even in this neck of the woods.

By comparison, a flat in the same road sold for £250k in March 06, and £317k in Sept. 09

  • The flat in the same road could have been studio, or 1 bedroom. Granted its still a optimistic price increase but 3 bedroom flats aint exactly cheap.
  • cant be bothered to double check but if its in central then i wouldnt be surprised, however looking at the pics it probably wont sell for anywhere near that, if i personally cud afford to pay 750k id buy a nice house on the outskirts of london.

It could indeed - but it was the difference in price between the two sales that I had in mind.

Also, the "3 bed" seems a bit cheeky, too. It's pretty small.

Bang in the middle of town - but still overpriced!

  • Fill your boots. You can't go wrong with bricks and mortar. Renting is officially dead money.

People who bought in 2008 and have been paying interest on houses that are worth less than they paid would disagree.

The added value you get from painting everything a neutral colour shouldn't be underestimated.
Magolia paint was to blame for the housing boom.

It has been incredibly un-eco-friendly though with every man and his terrier ripping out bathrooms and putting a new one in and slapping paint about.

Aren't the two links for the same flat or do they all have that picture of a yank car on the wall? How very 'exclusive'.
  • They do appear to be the same apartment.

I thought that, but they aren't. Very similar, yes. One's flat 4, the other flat 5, different floors.

It's the blue square on the reception room wall in one that is a give away as well.

I think we can assume they are owned by the same person who bought a job lot of yank motor pictures, sofas, dining tables etc:rotfl:.
