I can't believe I haven't updated this diary for over two weeks. Time flies when you are busy.
Son is now in his own flat. Took two van-loads of stuff up to him. Spent this afternoon fitting a curtain pole in his living room.
Not been a good day for money-saving. Popped into the bank to deposit some lose change, then headed-off to my sons. On route, I realised that I had forgotten to pack my drill bits (essential if you want to hang curtain poles), so called into Wickes. Came out with a drill set and a multi-position ladder ( the sort that can be used as a straight ladder, step ladder, workbench or self-supporting ladder). It did get deployed at my son's as he had nothing to stand on, so it was a few quid well-spent.Never Knowingly Understood.

Right, been an interesting week. First-off had an interview Friday. More money and easier to get to, but reckon my chances are less than 30%.
Saturday came and the car failed it's MOT, but with less than I thought it would. Will cost £95 to fix.
Saturday night and it was off to see a band. Arrived at the venue to find that the gig was on Friday. Never mind, we went to our local pub for a meal instead, then home to watch a DVD.
Still, at least I have now got all the curtain poles and curtains up at my son's flat.
Went round a bootsale today. Spent £5 on a bendy light for my photography.Never Knowingly Understood.

I can't believe how long it has been since I posted on my own thread. Well, as I sit here watching 'Grand Designs', it is time to redress the balance.
Since my last posting, I have finally completed the sanding-down and re-staining my front door, spent £150 getting my car through it's MOT, Paid-up yet another CC and been given a contract extension to the end of the year.
I was hoping for a permanent contract as originally promised, but another 3 months is better than nothing. I, and my job, will be moving departments. As I already deal with the guy who will be my new line manager, I know exactly what he is like and we get on really well.
This Christmas will be much better than last year's, we will actually be able to buy people presents.
As for the future, I am intending to go back to re-selling on ebay.Never Knowingly Understood.

Mr P i didn't write anything bad did I? Well done on Christmas presents for family and job.

Our hoover washer/dryer is now fixed again (8th time in 11 1/2 months). Added about £17 worth of change to new car fund.
Just found-out that my van will run on waste veggie oil, it's a pity I have nowhere to set up a filtering plant, or I could have free motoring for a year.
Might have a way out of my current job. An agency sent me an email about a sheetmetal vacancy (just hope it isn't at the place I'm already at). Will have to email them my phone number.
Howdy, just catching up. Can you speak to Worried Jim about this. I think he does something like this with his car. he is on hols soon so i hope you can catch him for some advice.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
I have been following 'Worried Jim's' thread on running a diesel car on veggie oil. When I have the funds to replace my petrol car with a diesel pick-up then I can start to trial it myself.Never Knowingly Understood.

What a day. My FiL fitted a shelf and clothes rail in my son's bedroom cupboard. It looks like it was fitted by a blind man and my son let me know via f/b that his half-afraid to put any clothes on in case the whole thing collapses.
Mind you, I should have known, when he added sominally e strengthening pieces to my OH's needlework frame, he used more wood than a 5-bar gate. Oh well, another job to add to the ever-growing list.
Finally remembered to buy some AAA batteries so I can listen to the music I have yet to pull-off my old MP3 player and am now enjoying a can of Fosters whilst listening to Avril Lavigne, REM and a few others.
Managed to unearth my Creative Zen as well, so will have to charge that up and see what music is on that before clearing both MP3 players onto my PC and adding the music to iTunes for syncing with my 1st-gen Ipod. Reading this back, I really sound like some kind of money-wasting techno-geek, but apart from the Zen, none of the other MP3 players cost me anything.Never Knowingly Understood.

Talk about lucky, I came across a bed on Freegle c/w orthopedic matress. I emailed the guy disposing of it and was the lucky person to obtain it. My son now has a decent bed to sleep on. Much better than the airbed with a slow puncture.
Had a job interview today at a firm I had worked for in the past. The whole management structure had changed and the place was buzzing. Just got to sit back and wait.
Forgot to add, am now a great uncle. My eldest niece on mt OH's side gave birth to a healthy baby girl at 2:00 this morning. The baby's name is Abigail.Never Knowingly Understood.
