New job, new beginnings.

Went in to town yesterday, and as I had time to kill, I popped into a few charity shops (as you do), and picked-up an almost new Reebock sweatshirt for under a fiver. It's not often that I come across nice thick fleece tops in XL in charity shops, so was well pleased.
Also, have an application form for a job that I will be filling-in and posting back next week. All I need to sort-out now are Acoustica who don't seem to understand that my MPPI insurers really do need to know my start/finish dates before they will resume paying my mortgage.Never Knowingly Understood.

Got my application in the post last Wed. Also banked-up my shrapnel via Barclays magic coin machine. I am also £2 better-off thanks to whoever used the machine before me and forgot to check the rejected coins tray.
DWP will pay the service charge on my flat, so that financial weight has gone. Still got to get my former employers to respond to my MPPI policy holders to start my mortgage claim running again (will get back-pay so am not worried).
To do's for Jan. -- Get flu jab
- Get Dr to contact eye specialist to 'hurry-up' my cataract p as it is 'reducing my ability to regain employment'.
- Make final payment to club book, then look to see how much commission there is.
- Lose at least 2Kg.

Had a good end-of week. When I booked-in for my flu jab I also booked-in for a full health check so need to arrange a blood test next week.
Also got-in two Job applications.
To combat my weight issue I ordered a '6 second Abs' system off Ebay, so hopefully this will help improve things.Never Knowingly Understood.

Gosh, been a while since last posting.
Of all the jobs I have applied for, I actually heard back from 1 today. Did not get the job, but was actually pleased that they let me know.
Have had a free health check, and apart from colesterol being slightly high & being 3 stone over weight, everything is fine.
Finally got a follow-up with they eye guy, 21st March. Still, not to long to wait I suppose.
Still have yet to resolve the issue with my former employers not informing my MPPI of my start/end dates, so having to fund my mortgage payments myself despite having no money left.
As of end of month will be left driving van as Car Tax expires and to be honest, it is a pile of crap so will be shoving it on Ebay to get shot of it & re-investing the cash in an old diesel that will run on veggie oil. (or just using the van that already does).
Still saving tin cans (even raiding my neighbours can-bank).Never Knowingly Understood.

Applied for more jobs today. Had a call-back from an agency within 30 minutes of sending-in email and cv. Looking hopeful for interview for engineering firm in N. Essex.
Who knows, might even be able to re-tax the car if I get the job.
Probably best not to mention up-coming eye op until I have my feet in the door. Will spring that one on them at the last minute.
Still have yet to resolve the issue with my former employer not sending my MPPI provider the form I dropped-off over a week ago. Useless b+stards.Never Knowingly Understood.

Checked my emails today and discovered I had an offer of a job interview on Monday, so replied stating I will be there.
I very nearly missed the email as the sender forgot to put anything in the subject line, so I nearly took it for junk mail.Never Knowingly Understood.

Job interview went well. Will hear back by end of the week.
Car is now on SORN and am back to driving the van which luckily can run on veggie-oil so will be doing a 50/50 diesel/veg oil mix to see how it goes.Never Knowingly Understood.

Got a call from my MPPI provider yesterday. They received the form back from Acoustica confirming my start/finish dates. What I couldn't believe though, was the excuse given for my 'dismissal'. Apparently I 'lacked the required skills for the job'.
Bl00dy cheek, I have 20 years experience in engineering, doing everything from final assembly to parts-manufacture on CNC equipment, Yet I still don't have the skill-set to spray perforated sheets of steel with glue and stick-on a bit of fibreglass.
I feel it might have more to to with the fact that I pulled Acoustica up over advertising jobs at £7 - £9.50 p/h when they only pay £6.30 p/h. Well, they can stick their acoustic cowlings up their chuff. With any luck they will soon go bust.
Right, had an interview on Monday but didn't get the job. However, I only ever thought I had an outside chance.
At least the mortgage is being covered again, so that's a weight off my mind.
Applied for a job as a storeman for a bus operator, not hopeful, but looks good on the JS agreement form.Never Knowingly Understood.

Am now considering self-employment as an option.
Am experienced at selling on Ebay, so will be looking at buying joblots then selling-on as individual items after testing.Never Knowingly Understood.

Had a good week this week. Took my son to the pub to celebrate his 18th, then he treated me, his mum and his g/f to a meal in an Indian restaurant today.
Managed to Tax my car, so no longer driving the van.
Tasks for this week -
Pay c/c
Claim c/b from Mutualpoints
Claim c/b from Littlewoods
Claim c/b from TopCashBack
Check all the bingo sites I used to be a member of to see if I have any outstanding cash to claim.
Finish and post job application.Never Knowingly Understood.
