Car hire security deposit

I am planning on hiring a car in Potugal on Wednesday however they are looking for a credit card and a 900 euro security deposit.... I dont have that kind of money on my credit card - are there any companies that dont need this security deposit?

In general, most car-hire companies will take an imprint of your credit card, and then when the car is returned IF there's any damage THEN they will take the money from your card, rather than you having to pay a refundable deposit on collection of the car.0
