I have recently switched from Npower to Scottish gas.
Even though I left the DD mandate in place for the final bill they still sent the credit amount by cheque.:(

You'd be complaining if you didn't get it at all ;)
  • i would like to point out that your final meter reading will be provided to your old supplier by your new one. your old supplier will only be able to close your account once they have received the reading from your new supplier. also, your new supplier can take up to 28 days to give the reading to your old supplier so you will continue to be billed by them until they get the final reading. They will however backdate it if you change supplier say mid september and they continue to bill you in october then only get the read after that. also, it can take up to 6 weeks to change supplier, people are naive to think it is almost instant as there is a lot of data that has to be sent between the suppliers before it can be changed.

ps: refunds are automatically issued by their systems for the full amount of the credit on the final bill.
    :)

Hi Electricityemployee, thank you for your input, i have recieved a letter from E.on to confirm that i became their customer on 1st September and i also recieved a letter beforehand letting me know that i would become their customer on 1st September, i also i have given them my Meter readings online via their website so i presume that Npower will not be taking anymore money off me but i think i will give them a bell tomorrow just to see whats what as i dont want any nasty unexpected bills!! lol
    Thanks again Kev
