Well, if you watch some of the makeover shows I've seen in the last few months, 60s and 70s G-plan and Ercol are very desireable (doesn't do much for me, but there you are!) and a Brighton retro company I've just spotted, are selling a vintage set of Pebble Nesting tables by Ercol for £400  and 8 identical Ercol coffee tables to the one my relative has, have sold on Ebay in the past 2 weeks for between £65 and £102! It seems someone wants them!
Pity Ebay is not really an option in this case, but we are following up the suggestions by people here and I will come back when I know what it actually sells for. We may all be surprised - hopefully!
  • I had some lovely, perfect and very very expensive dark brown ercol. I managed to give away the table and 6 chairs and got £50 for a perfect dresser for which I had paid £4000. No-one wants it any more

Now that we have downshifted, I needed new furniture and have learnt a big lesson so have gone for modular oiled oak in a light colour and I can mix and match, which I did when I moved 10 weeks ago

The dark Ercol doesn't sell - dark wood furniture is just not fashionable at the moment! The blonde/honey colour still sells relatively well, though I can't imagine who would be paying the catalogue prices for the new stuff.

I have 2 dining tables (1 inherited, 1 bought off Ebay), 2 extension tables, 6 chairs and the love seat. There is a market for them with those who value the retro style, or, like me, were brought up with it in the 60s!

The pieces with the highest prices on Ebay are the day bed, the love seat and sideboards. The hassle of selling on Ebay is probably not worth it if the piece will only fetch £50.
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.
