    Why not ask the dealer?

    Because they may not tell the truth. I only had a 3 month warranty which would be up before they even got the part. I cant see them telling me the truth and what if it causes damage further down the line.

    So long as the old one is still fitted properly it should be ok, but may use more fuel. Has the oil been overfilled at some point?

    Also bear in mind sometimes dealers take a "plug it in to the computer, read the codes, replace the bits it mentions and pray" approach, and this does not always fix what the actual problem is.

    I have only had the car a few weeks and it was serviced before collection. However he did say today he had changed the oil and i wondered why.

    As this car is under finance is there away to return the car seeing as it is faulty whilst still under warrany and only a few weeks from sale date.

    thanks

    Surely it's more likely the Lambda sensor than the very expensive CAT??????
    Lambda = £100-£200
    CAT = £450+

    As far as I know, Peugeots don't flag error's for a broken CAT.

    The lambda sensor screws into the CAT, so I'd be asking the question of whether they !!!!!!ed the CAT while changing the lambda sensor!!

    The error it was showing on the display was change diesel filter. He is saying when it went back to peugeot on the computer it is saying the CAT needs to be replaced. I dont know a great deal about cars. I am worried now i have bought one with major issues and still have another 14 payments to make.

    An oil change is a normal part of a service. It is not unknown for dealers to overfill oil when they change it. Did you check the level yourself with the dipstick at any point?
