Oh yeah of course!! I might just grate it up and freeze it then... ta

    Sounds grate to me! Doh!
  • :( Last Wednesday, Asda had Turner Road Merlot Red & White wine on the end of an aisle as a Special Offer of £3.00 so I got 3 bottles of Red. On arriving home and on checking the till receipt found that I had been charged £6.65 a Bottle for the wine. I took it all back today as I was not paying that for it, when I took it to customer services, someone went to check the price, came back discussing it with other 2 members of staff and said it had been on offer the weekend prior to when we bought it but the sign hadnt been taken down so would give us it at the offer price as a gesture of GOODWILL, which is a load of rubbish as it has to be sold at the displayed price, so I was refunded the difference. I would advise everyone to ALWAYS check ASDA receipts as on numerous occassions we have been overcharged.

same thing happened at Tescos a few weeks ago ...Bernard Matthews Turkey Ham big pk scanned at £1 instead of £2, went back and got some more and froze them :)
cheese can be frozen the only problem i find is that is then very crumbly and you cant cut slices off it -but if you grate it first then freeze you can shake out as much as you need. we dont use much cheese and if a whole block is left out it usually goes mouldy before we use it up...so we save money by freezing it :)

i froze the ham once never again too much water content glad only did one pack tasted horrid just shows how much water is in that stuff put me off buying it for ages but kids love it

This isn't legally accurate, there isn't any obligation to sell at the displayed price.

Although incidentally Tesco do operate under that asumption - they offer double the difference back (at Customer services) if you've been charged more than the display price, no matter what the till says. Shame Asda doesn't do similar! Sorry I know off topic! :D

I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here! :D

I've tried this at my local Tesco and was told they no longer do this. Any way of checking?

zmt at CS there ought to be a big blue info board & DTD is almost near the bottom. Some staff will assume you know nothing about it & just give you the diff whilst others are happy to state that whilst they made a mistake they owe you DTD & you simple smile...oh really!
  • I've frozen it with no ill effects in the past, although keeping it at the back of the fridge usually keeps it as long as I need.
I was just about to go to Asda anyway, so I'll keep a look out, thanks.

    Hiya

Sorry to disappoint but a supermarket or any shop in fact doesn't have to sell an item to you at the displayed price. If an item is labelled the incorrect price it is goodwill for the store to offer it to you at that price but unfortunately it is classed as an 'invitation to treat' and the store can withdraw the item from sale at anytime.
