Hi this is my first post so i hope it hasnt been on before

Went to asda this morning and Cathederal city extra mature cheese labled for £2
When i went to the till it scanned at £1
I went back in to get more and noticed that they were 2 different weight in the same area 350g Block scans for £2 and 400g Block with 208 at end of barcode scans for £1.

Hope that makes sense

Official MoneySavingExpert.com insert:

We've contacted the Asda press office and have been told that this isn't available nationwide, and that
'certain stores may be selling through stock at a reduced price due to our range change over'

As far as I know, yes. Certainly cooked dishes containing cheese can be frozen.
    Hope is not a strategy.
  • Oh yeah of course!! I might just grate it up and freeze it then... ta

    Hi
I always freeze cheese in the packet when I buy it on offer or whoops.
It can even be grated while frozen if you forget to defrost it.

same thing happened at Tescos a few weeks ago ...Bernard Matthews Turkey Ham big pk scanned at £1 instead of £2, went back and got some more and froze them :)
cheese can be frozen the only problem i find is that is then very crumbly and you cant cut slices off it -but if you grate it first then freeze you can shake out as much as you need. we dont use much cheese and if a whole block is left out it usually goes mouldy before we use it up...so we save money by freezing it :)

A great post if you can actually get it.

I called in local Asda today but there was no 400g with a barcode ending 208.

Has anyone apart from the OP managed to find any?

Brilliant. Cheese at £1:00 for a 400gm slab........till MSE contacted Asda and asked them about it. :T

Guaranteed, realising an error had been highlighted, an email went straight out to all Asda stores, telling them to take the Cathedral City 400gm slab, with a barcode ending in 208, off the shelves.

    Good work guys.

Not doubting you but how do you know this?

I noticed you were last on this forum at 4-42pm today so why didn`t you answer my query or is the above complete nonsense?
  • Ok so let's not all jump down the OP's throat for posting a potential grabbit.

Anyhoo - how about some FREE Cathedral City mature cheddar 200g to make up for it?

Pls thank thatguy1 on below thread for spotting the freebie from Milk&More:
