Nationwide's full current account you can but, not Nationwide's basic current account.

When & where did they say "non-uk cash withdrawals more expensive" for the CashCard (+) account?

When they sent me a letter a couple of months ago saying they were changing it all so that foreign withdrawals were no longer free. They didn't mention anything about withdrawing the facility altogether.

don't recall the letter myself, but was it a case that they sent one letter detailing both the changes for full flex accounts and those for cashcard only accounts and you've mistakenly believed both applied to you??

I'm sure they mentioned at the time the of removal of foreign withdrawals for cashcard customers but the introduction of being able to use EPOS with the new + card ??

EDIT: In fact from this post they 'announced' the removal of foreign withdrawals in MARCH :

Not great news for those who used their cashcard to withdraw cash abroad which will no longer be allowed. For them it is more a case of cashcard minus.

I don't recall any letter about withdrawing the facility completely, just about charging.

Regardless it's elementary now but, theirs plenty good alternatives by using them cheap pre-paid cards eg: FairFx or apply for another credit & or debit card :)

Why do people try and fix a broken wheel with no leverage, when with the same effort and no leverage needed another wheel but different colour is available elsewhere.

Sooner or later the answer will be the same.

Another 'improvement' will be to make the proceeds of funds available for withdrawal a full four working days after deposit rather than the current three (technically it's to bring them into line with '2-4-6')
