Assuming its interest free, why not just take it out and put it in a savings account/ISA. Then forget about it for a year.0 -

Thats excatly what I do ! I have a saver account where I earn no interest for each month I withdraw money - so I leave it there and have the interest paid into my current account. Its so much less tempting ! :j

My daughters finally went into her account today, October 2nd, about 2 weeks after the last letter we recieved.
She has had £1095.65 put into her account so will this be about the same ammount next terms and roughly when in January and when in the third term?
Actually she does not realise it has gone in yet. I had to ring her for a nagging session this morning but she would not talk to me. She has had to use her overdraft for the last two weeks until her money came through and as I thought she would (because she will see it as free money) she has gone through £430 in the last two weeks:eek:
We sorted her desposit out and her rent and she went with a huge suitcase of toiletries, her entire wardrobe, a crate of shoes and a box of grouceries, her books have so far come from the library and she seems to be in most nights when we ring her so I dont know how she is going through so much money. Mind you she has had a lot of practice.
But she has finally got a job interview this week and she says she might get £50 a week. A lot of help when you go through over £200.

I thought it might be fairly normal.
At least with your daughter you can list where most of it has gone. Mine has not got a clue, no receipts, nothing to show for it. I know her NUS card cost £10 and she has been to Primark and that must have cost about £50 (she had to have new jeans (and yet another new top) despite my buying her two pairs of pairs of trousers before she set off and she also got a charity shop pair for £3.50)
