So many of the complaints I have heard about A&L are(like this one) without foundation.

Unfortunately, however, the vast majority of complaints about A&L have been well founded. Ask the FOS.

Are you employed by A&L ?

    Welcome to the forum.

    Edit
I see from a previous post that you are not employed by A&L. My apolgies for the implication.

  • Well our complaints were definately well founded. I think if your id had been lost by A & L and no one replied to your concens you too would not be happy booler. We have had correspondence from the Information Commisioner and Financial Ombudsman stating that there is a back log of complaints so it will take sometime to sort them all out.

I have had terrible experience with A+L.

Tried online secure messages and their phoneline numerous times for a few issues all without resolution.

    NOT recommended.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the purpose of a debit card password? I have an A&L debit card but have never had (or needed) a password... (unless you mean "Verified by Visa")
In answer to my own question, having just applied to open one of these accounts, Santander asks applicants to supply a "debit card password" for security reasons. Quite why it is called a debit card password is a mystery to me since the account has no debit card :rotfl:, but at least my curiosity has been partly satisfied...;)
