I think you are stuck with paying a fortune for it from a Ford dealer. Don't they have a transponder as part of an ignition immobilisation system?A house isn't a home without a cat.

I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.

I was quoted £38+vat for the fob and £25+vat to programme the fob by my local ford for my transit.
I managed to get one brand new off ebay for £19.50 delivered, this also included programming instructions which took about a minute.
If you can only get a fob, do the following:
Put key into ignition.
Switch on don't actually start the car) and off 8 times, after the eighth press the unlock on your fob, thats it.

I have moved your thread over to the Motoring board to see if you can get some more replies.

If it's just the case, then try eBay. I needed one for a Nissan, found one on eBay for £2, and just put the old transponder bits inside the case of the new keyfob.0

It's different for a Focus but it is in the handbook. I seem to remember you need to have two working keys before you can program another (or something like that). If you get stuck the Ford Focus Owners Club (registration required for the Forums) will know0
