Sky box or Freesat

Ive had sky+hd in my room for 8 months now, recently we bought a new telly for the living room and i got the sky moved downstairs.
We called a local engineer, i told him to leave my wires in my room alone and he layed new wire from the box in the living room to the dish.
Now here is my problem, i dont have a aerial in my room so i cant use the freeview on my tv, so i was thinking about buying a freesat/hd box and use the sky wires that are in my room??
Should i do this or should i buy a second hand sky box and connect it to the wires to recieve the free stations?? has anybody done this? please share your experiences
and before somebody mentions it i do not want multiroom because it will mean a 12 month agreement..
thanks

An old Sky box will work just fine if you'll be happy with just the FreesatFromSky channels.
Mind you, basic Freesat SD boxes are reasonably cheap nowadays and you could get a PVR version if you wanted to record. That's something you couldn't do with an old Sky+ box, without paying Sky for the privilege.Dave. :wave:0 -
