Electric towel warmer/bathroom heater

Hi folks, can anyone recommend a good electric towel rail/heater? I plan to wire it into a mains socket myself.

In these days of the Nanny state, I suspect it is now illegal for you to wire it yourself - unless you are a certified electrician! Obviously fitting in a bathroom can be a hazard.

I suspect there is little to choose between most of the manufacturers - Dimplex is as good as any.
  • as cardew says it really should be done by a proffesional but as for a towel radiator how about the prestige all electric towel radiator at cnmonline, i have one of these myself and its a great heater.

unable to post a link but cnmonline dot co dot uk search for "prestige all electric"

Just about any of the towel rail radiators that you see in B&Q can easily and cheaply be converted to be electric only by buying an electric heating element off the shelf and the recommended corrosion inhibitor to fill the radiator.

Mine is dual fuel, uses the heat pump circuit when the hot water is on or electric element only. The electric element is 250W and is wired to a separate thermostat in the bathroom, such that if the room is below 22C at certain times of day then the electric element switches on, warming the towels & the room.
