    me :)

well selling to rent, then Ill/ we'll decide what to do after that

but whatever it will be, it will be a smaller place in a not as good area I expect.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • me.....from a 25+ roomed house into a 4 bed house!!! Yikes!!!!
  • It's funny nearly everybody who viewed our house (3 bed detached) was downsizing and almost every house we have viewed to buy (4 beds) were also downsizing.
Unfortunately the house we have chosen to buy,he is downsizing and I think he is finding it difficult as he has backed out of 2 purchases and still cannot find something right.
We are still hanging on for him.
  • hi there, yes we are downsizing. fed up of all the bills. kids moving out, just us two left, going to N Devon to live in 3 bed and do it up and then keep doing that until we can get a slightly bigger house with no mortgage. that's the hope anyway. but our house is big and unusual and is taking ages to sell, I am sooooo bored with cleaning and tidying. but there we are, I guess it will go one day. then I will be walking my dogs on the beach!
  • Not downsizing as such.

Bigger house with a 1/3rd acre plot next to it in Brecon Beacons moving from Hampshire.

We decided to do this following my other half having a breast cancer scare earlier in the year. Kinda made us realise what is really important.

We are doing it to reduce our mortgage thus ease the need to work such long hours (inevitable in my line of work) and spend more time together as a family.

Because we both work from home we can locate ourselves anywhere that has a phone and internet.

Lovely part of the world, more relaxed way of life and re-structuring my business so that I personally work fewer hours (currently in excess of 60+ a week)

Yes I'll be selling up to downsize next year. It's the cheaper bills & less housework that have decided me. Lower utility bills & council tax are appealing. Seems silly to be paying out for a place that's far too big for little old me.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

Yes we are downsizing! Went on a cruise in July and landed at a place called Villefranche in the South of France. Fell in love with it.

We have just sold our house and bought a smaller one (I hope!) and will pay off the mortgage and have a few quid left. We will save the mortgage payments and enjoy taking our time looking for somewhere abroad
  • I would down size if I could find something suitable. All the places I have seen are "starter" type homes. I want something like I have now but half the size.

Hope you enjoy it, its a beautiful part of the world. I miss the Welsh countryside since we moved away a year ago. My inlaws still live in Mid Wales so we go back whenever we can. You have to make the most of every day, dont you.
