Blackberry rings to voicemail

Hello, can anyone help?
I have a blackberry curve 8310,, ( a gift) My problem is it goes to voice mail after about 2-3 rings how do I correct this and make it ring for a longer time, The Blackberry forum says contact my provider (asda mobile) and get them to extend the time before clicking over to voicemail they inform me that they can't.

its your provider that sorts this out ,it ring 3 times or they can turn it off ,
mine been turned off for years ,phone tells you who has rang in any case ,just get it turned off

ASDA mobile can't help but as they are the same as Vodafone I researched their website/forums and found out that voicemail can be switched off by entering 1210 then send, to switch back on 1211 then send.
It pays these networks (asda mobile) to get you to ring your voicemail service ( at your cost) to see what the missed call was all about. In my case the phone vibrates twice followed by pause then two rings then it switches over to voicemail,,,,, or am I being too cynical.
Anyway I was given my Blackberry as a prezzy, bloody thing, to complicated.
