Usually under the boiler there will be a 'filling loop'. This is a silver braided flexible pipe with an isolation valve at one end or if modern, both ends.
Open both of these and let pressure gauge rise to just over 1 Bar. Turn both valves off again and see if it works.
If you have a 105e 'instant' combi, then getting hot water when you reset the boiler could be a sign that the hot water diaphragm has perished.0 -
Top up the pressure via the filling loop if it is low. What pressure is it showing? Is it holding pressure when topped up?
Why would you even contemplate calling out BG?-call a local recommended independent RGI who will be half the price. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks for your reply,..........
Pardon my ignorance , but I am not sure how to 'top up' !!
The pressure is down to 0.12 bar (almost nil !! )
Can you help ?
If you tell me how to top up ,I might be able to do that
thanks

You've already been give clear instructions on how to top up by gas4you.
Identify the filling loop under the boiler. Open the isolator'(s) 90 degrees and you should see the pressure rise. Close them when the pressure has risen to just over 1 bar. Then retest. No free lunch, and no free laptop

and don't firget that the pressure guage is only related to the CH side. Lack of pressure is why your CH isn't functioning.
For the Domestic Hot Water side see G4Ys response.
When was this boiler last serviced? It does sound like you may need an RGI to look at it but unless you are on contract don't even dream of getting BG out to it. As Macman says - get a local recommended independent out.
