  • I like you as a buyer! Hope you look at some of my things and buy them all!

Ahh, but would you leave me feedback first though?!:p

As a seller I would NEVER leave feedback until I had had some sort of feedback from the buyer to indicate that they are happy with the purchase.

Okay, so for the sake of arguement lets say I pay promptly but I'm not happy with your service. Maybe you're a bit slow. Or your item is not as newish as you described. If I left neutral feedback (don't even know if I can do that!!:o) would you do the same for me? Or leave none at all? How can I get no/neutral feedback when I've kept my end of the bargain? Just curious - I'm not irrational, picky, lying psychotic......

This whole ebay thing is a can of worms, isn't it?!;)
  • Not wanting to hijack this thread, but I bought something on 14th August from a business seller, who also has their own non-ebay online shop. I left feedback (positive) after I got the item, but I've just noticed they've not left me any. Is it rude for me to ask for some? I've fewer than 50 stars so every one counts!
    Thanks.

    What if I don't pay

You'll get a non paying bidder strike. 2 of those and you have effectively banned yourself from ebay. The reason sellers can't leave a neg is at one point a few sellers were using this ability as a form of blackmail to stop them getting bad feedback.

As a seller I always leave feedback immediately after payment. Just because it's easier for me. If I don't hear anything from a buyer I assume everything is fine. I'm not one of these sellers that wait for feedback to prove the buyer has the item (I find that pretty weird). I don't have time to worry about it. If there is a problem i'm sure the buyer will tell me. The fact i've left Feedback first makes no difference and makes those buyers who are a bit obsessed with receiving FB feel good (there are a lot out there)Most good sellers with good listings and good Customer service get very few problems anyway.

I have though noticed recently that a lot more sellers I buy off are doing this now and leaving feedback after payment. Paypal don't give a stuff about FB so it doesn't stop any disputes being opened.

Yes, and some worms are more 'wriggly' than others:(

Feedback is optional as a buyer all you can get is a positive so it's pretty pointless. A lot of business sellers leave FB on a monthly basis or in blocks. Not sure why you think everyone counts because as a buyer it makes no difference what you have. If your selling you really shouldn't be selling from the same account.
  • I always leave feedback once I have posted the items at the same time as I am marking the items as despatched. ( I always post either the same day or day after receiving payment)

I did a bit of selling a couple of years ago on the same account, but not really much. Is there any reason I should have to get a new account to sell? Don't want to have to go through the rigmarole again.

I thought the process consisted of two separate transactions really.

    1. The seller judges the buyer on speed of payment.

    2. The buyer then judges the seller on quality of goods and delivery time.

Recently I made a purchase in which the buyer included a note basically saying you give me feedback and I will give you feedback which I thought was against Ebay rules.

I left feedback on the goods but needless to say the seller, a business seller has not left me any even though I paid within minutes of the auction.

Needless to say I will not be using that seller in the future or if I do they will certainly NOT get any feedback from me.
